December to Remember
Welcome to the last month of the year. Incredible. When I was a kid, all I wanted was time to move faster, now it refuses to slow down. Taking mental notes of all the things I managed to cross off my to do list this year, while trying to figure out the next set.
I do myself a great disservice when I donāt have a rough outline. Iāve learned the lessons of applying energy where itās only extracted and not returned, so I try to give myself structure to avoid that as much as possible. I need the balance of the creative process feeding me. Nothing kicks my creative ass more than working on something that ends up not being fulfilling.
I figured out my low stakes project for the winter that mentioned back in issue 9. I will be compiling sketches and ideas for an illustrated alphabet book. Figured it would be a good process project I could share with my daughter. She loves to draw and color, and itās a great way to get immediate feedback.
All of this of course is time dependent over the next couple of months, as Iām writing this pre-paternity leave, so I might be on paternity leave when this is out š .
