👋🏾 Hi, welcome to The Offhours Weekly, a share of illustrations, drawings, thoughts and links. Thanks for being here, you’re amazing, tell a friend.
Black Friday
No deals in this letter just this piece that feels very Friday to me. Maybe it’s the colors, the detail, or just the general vibe. I rarely associate a day with my work, but from time to time, a piece shouts it from the mountain tops. This plant piece is from a set of iPad drawings I made during the first wave of the pandemic. I was really diving into the color palette on this one, it gives it a lot of dimension, and depth. Large scale this would feel very immersive. I try to imagine walking through some of my works, and experiencing the raw reaction.
FYI - Welcome new subscribers! I will be going on paternity leave soon 😊, but no worries, posts will be scheduled ahead of time.
The great thing about creativity is that its all about process. I’m a work in progress, and I’m thankful to have this space to fumble and figure things out. I had to start this substack to create rules and order around showing up for my art.
Music Vibes 🎧
Aprtment Life Mix - More DJ mixed jams for your weekend. This one pairs well with a long drive.

“Studio Visit with Painter Tom Jean Webb” - I’ve talked about depicting portals in my work before. Webb’s western themes bring them to the forefront in his works.
“Studio Visit with Artist Thierry Noir” - So much energy in his work.
