👋🏾 Hi, welcome to The Offhours Weekly, a share of illustrations, drawings, thoughts and links. Thanks for being here, you’re amazing, tell a friend.
Analogue
A real short one this week. This piece above is from a set of iPad drawings I did during the first wave of the pandemic. No set theme, just a therapeutic distraction from the news cycle and growing anxiety. I do enjoy a good textured tropical plant, and found myself researching different plant images as reference. Maybe I’m too old school and analogue, but I still haven’t found a great way to integrate my iPad into the workflow, even though I liked where this was going.
Hope this coming break is spent relaxing and enjoying time with loved ones. Enjoy an extra slice of sweet potato pie for me.
Music Vibes 🎧
Afro Cuban Funky Grooves with Cami Layé Okún - One of my favorite YouTube streams with excellent mixes. Afro Cuban jams for your weekend.
Linky Links 🔗
”In The Studio with Ravelle Pillay” - Pulling from archival images, memories and haunting history. Ravelle creates some heavy, memorable work.
”Humane’s Ai Pin Launch” - I found the delivery very robotic, but it is an interesting product, in regards to voice commands and use of haptics. Privacy concerns a plenty.
Thanks for subscribing. Until next week!
Stay Wonderful.
