👋🏾 Hi, welcome to The Offhours Weekly, a share of illustrations, drawings, thoughts and links. Thanks for being here, you’re amazing, tell a friend.
Homebody
From 80 degrees to freezing in less than a week. Welcome to New England! It’s November and nesting mode begins, once daylight savings re-ups. My fireplace is already active, the hot chocolate is being stocked up. Cozy vibes are here. There is a significant fall off in my productivity (creatively) during holiday periods. Between family time, house prep, cooking, gift acquiring, working on my dad bod—there’s plenty to do. And it will all be a blur before I know it. It is a nice time period to reflect before the new year rolls around. Like traveling through a portal, that new year reset my brain does is trippy, I’m sure I share with many folks. Our brains like to check a box. I have to ease into it—starting now.
This Week’s Drawings
I’ve been drawing this old school detective for a while now. Mostly as a warm up exercise, but evolving into more interesting compositions. Have a few iterations on my portfolio site. I also have a few grouping drawings left to share. I did technical engineering drawing in high school for a short time, a precursor to architectural drawing. Protractors are fun!
Music Vibes 🎧
”Lady” by Fela Kuti - The legendary Afrobeat musician. One of my favorite songs of his that I always revisit in the Fall.

Henry Taylor: ‘FROM SUGAR TO SHIT’ - Henry Taylor is an incredible artist that has been practicing for over four decades. Here’s a glimpse into his temporary studio as he preps for a show.
